Meet Your Philosophy Teacher – Jacinta McEwen
Jacinta McEwen brings a rare and grounded depth to the teachings of yoga philosophy, drawing from over 35 years of experience as a yoga teacher, Ayurvedic consultant, naturopath, herbalist, and women’s health practitioner. Her approach is rooted in lived experience, ancient wisdom, and a refreshing authenticity that speaks to students from all walks of life.
Jacinta began her yoga journey early—reading her first yoga book at the age of 12—and by 19, she was living as a Raja Yogini in Indian ashrams, immersing herself in the spiritual and philosophical foundations of yoga. From five years of celibate study in India to raising a family, running a business, and becoming a grandmother, Jacinta's path has been rich, diverse, and profoundly inspiring.
She has trained in Sivananda, Iyengar, Kriya Yoga, and Tantra, and brings a passion for both spiritual depth and practical integration to her teachings. Her style is warm, no-fluff, and rooted in the realities of life—making complex philosophy relatable, grounded, and accessible.
As a beautiful full-circle moment, Jacinta was Kirsten’s philosophy teacher many years ago, and her wisdom has been a guiding light in the foundation of Soul Studies.
In the 200hr Hybrid Yoga Teacher Training, Jacinta will guide the online philosophy modules, offering teachings from key yogic texts such as the Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, and the eight-limbed path. She invites students into deeper self-inquiry, spiritual reflection, and a heartfelt connection to yoga beyond the mat.
